Who we are
AI Exam Prep Engine (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is operated by K I A Global Technology Solutions LLC. The App is provided both directly and through independent partner schools (“tenant schools”) who each run their own branded instance of the platform on their own website. When you join using a school’s join code, your account and data are associated with that specific school and are not visible to or shared with other schools on the platform.
Information we collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), your date of birth, and the school join code you used to register, which determines which tenant school your account belongs to.
Payment information. When you purchase course access or exam credits:
- On mobile (iOS/Android), payment is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card details — we only receive a purchase receipt/transaction ID from Apple or Google, which we use to verify the purchase and grant your credits.
- On the web, payment is handled by our central payment system via Paystack. We do not store your full card number.
We do retain a record of what you purchased, when, and for how much, for accounting, refund-handling, and support purposes.
Content you create. This includes exam answers and quiz responses, assignment submissions (including any files you choose to upload), forum posts and replies, questions asked to the AI tutor, and messages sent through in-app features like referrals or course Q&A.
Usage and diagnostic data. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (which screens are visited, which features are used) and Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports and error logs if the App crashes or misbehaves, so we can fix bugs. This data is tied to an anonymous device/installation identifier, not directly to your name.
Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we register a device token with our servers (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you notifications about your courses, exam results, and account activity. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.
Technical/device data. Every request the App makes to our servers includes your app version and platform (Android/iOS/web/desktop), used for compatibility and to serve the correct app behavior for older versions.
What we do NOT collect. We do not access your precise device location, camera, microphone, or contacts. We do not show advertising and do not use any advertising or ad-tracking service. We do not collect any data beyond what’s described above.
How we use your information
- To provide the App’s core functionality: course access, exam simulation, AI tutoring, progress tracking, and community features.
- To process purchases and grant the credits/access you paid for.
- To send you notifications you’ve opted into.
- To detect and fix bugs and crashes.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
- To detect fraud or abuse (for example, our referral program includes automated fraud detection to prevent abuse of referral rewards).
Who we share information with
- Your school (tenant). Your registration, progress, and exam data are visible to your school’s administrators, instructors, and moderators as part of the normal operation of an exam-prep/LMS platform — this is the same as how a school’s own learning platform would work.
- Your parent/guardian, if you registered as a linked ward or added their information — they can view your account status and, if you registered under 13, must confirm your registration before it becomes active.
- Apple / Google. When you make an in-app purchase, Apple or Google process the payment under their own privacy policies.
- Paystack, our payment processor for web and centrally-processed purchases.
- Firebase / Google Cloud, which hosts the backend infrastructure powering exam sessions, AI tutoring, notifications, analytics, and crash reporting, under Google’s own data processing terms.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data retention
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you’d like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at support@remedials.webschools.net and we will process your request, subject to any records we’re legally required to keep (e.g., financial/purchase records).
Children’s privacy
The App is used by secondary-school students, some of whom are under 18, and registration can happen in several ways: a parent or school can register a student directly, a student can register themselves and optionally link a parent/guardian for monitoring, or a student can register with no parent or school involvement at all.
If a student registering themselves indicates they are under 13 years old, our registration process requires a parent or guardian’s name, email, and phone number, and the account cannot be used — no further personal information is collected from the child, and they cannot log in — until we receive confirmation from the parent/guardian via a link sent to the email address they provided. This applies regardless of which registration path was used.
After registration, every student additionally goes through a separate school-verification step (confirming their school name and student ID with that school’s designated moderator) before they can appear on leaderboards or be visible to other students — this is a trust-and-safety layer on top of, not a replacement for, the guardian-consent step above.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, contact us at support@remedials.webschools.net and we will investigate and delete it as appropriate.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at support@remedials.webschools.net to exercise these rights.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage of your authentication token on your device, secure password hashing, and HTTPS for all network communication.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.
